The Apollo 11.5" barrel delivers match-grade accuracy from a barrel length where most manufacturers settle for "good enough."

Capable of sub-MOA performance with quality match ammunition, Apollo barrels start with premium hand-lapped blanks and undergo Alpine Research's machining process: hand-enhanced feed ramps that are polished to a mirror finish, dimensional inspection throughout machining and assembly, and H&M Black Nitride for maximum durability.

The result is a precision capability that will make your longer barrels jealous.

Mid gas 11.5" — that's not going to work unsuppressed, is it?

It most certainly does, and it's excellent!

Almost every 11.5" barrel uses a carbine-length gas system with large dwell time. The Apollo uses mid-length gas — a deliberate choice that optimizes performance in both unsuppressed and suppressed configurations.

The Apollo barrel's longer gas system and shorter dwell time (the window between when the projectile passes the gas port and when it exits the barrel) reduce the barrel's sensitivity to suppressor flow restriction and produces a smoother recoil impulse. The rifle runs cleaner suppressed and shoots smoother unsuppressed — without tuning, adjustable gas blocks, or compromise.

Materials Are Important: 4150 CrMoV + H&M Nitride = Built to Last

Apollo barrels are machined from premium 4150 CrMoV ordnance-grade steel blanks — a superior alloy to the 4140 or 4130 used in most barrels, offering 2-3x the service life. Each blank is gun-drilled, reamed, rifled, then hand-lapped by an industry-leading OEM prior to profiling and chambering by Alpine Research.

During the profiling and chambering process, each barrel is dimensionally inspected throughout machining and assembly, ensuring every barrel meets the stringent Apollo tolerances and delivers the performance you demand.

Post-machining, each barrel is nitrided by H&M, increasing wear resistance and heat tolerance, which in turn increases service life substantially. Because nitriding is a heat treatment process instead of a plating process like chrome-lining, the accuracy potential of the hand-lapped blank is preserved.

Hand-Enhanced Feed Ramps — Built for Modern Ammunition

Alpine Research hand-enhances each Apollo barrel extension's feed ramps — a completely manual process that relies on feel and experience for a perfect result.

The top of each feed ramp is gently beveled, enabling reliable feeding of the most modern, heavy projectiles for 5.56/.223. Additionally, the top corners of the left and right ramp are chamfered, eliminating the risk of a sharp corner scoring or scratching the projectile jacket during feeding. Lastly, both ramps are taken progressively through higher-grit abrasives until all machine marks are gone and only a mirror finish remains.

The result is flawless feeding across the wide range of loads available for .223/5.56.

Superior Thread Pattern for Suppressor Mounting

The Apollo barrel features 5/8"-24 muzzle threads instead of the standard 1/2"-28 found on most AR-15 barrels. The larger thread diameter provides increased stiffness at the suppressor mounting interface, reducing deflection under load and significantly decreasing the risk of baffle or end-cap strikes. Available with either a square shoulder (90°) or optional 25° taper shoulder for Q-pattern and Sig-pattern direct thread suppressors, the Apollo barrel delivers rigid, concentric suppressor mounting that maintains alignment in any conditions.
