The suppressor optimized barrel kit includes:

  • One Alpine Research 12.5" Mid Gas Suppressor optimized barrel
  • One fitted Alpine Research gas block (block is honed for a very low clearance fit)
  • One Alpine Research mid length gas tube (pre installed)
  • One installation fixture kit (printed gas block fixture, gas tube support, alignment screw)
  • Double hardware kit (extra set of gas block set screws, extra gas tube pins)

Barrel:

This 12.5" barrel is optimized for suppressor use in several important ways:

  1. Suppressor only gas port optimizes performance for supressor use, eliminating the need for tuning tools like adjustable gas blocks, BCG's, or tuned gas tubes.  Our gas port is sized to give excellent performance for most suppressors with H2 buffer and Sprinco Red/White enhanced carbine recoil spring.
  2. Mid length gas system decreases dwell time and reduces the impact of suppressors with high flow restriction (commonly called backpressure). 
  3. Tapered profile keeps mass in important areas of the barrel to handle the heat generated by suppressed shooting.

 

Construction:

Each suppressor optimized barrel begins with an extremely high quality 4150 CrMoV barrel blank, crafted by some of the best manufacturers in the industry.  These blanks are gun-drilled, reamed, rifled, lapped, then finally stress relieved before shipping to our shop.  

Once in our hands these blanks are cut to length, profiled, chambered, and then are drilled for gas ports.  After machining operations are completed they are sent out for a nitride hardening process by H&M.  Once completed, the barrels are given a final full QC inspection including the chamber, extension, gas port size, gas block journal size, crown, thread class, thread concentricity, and bore straightness.  Only after passing all checks will a barrel be placed into inventory or used in a build.
